# Linewit > Linewit is a free daily English word game. Players answer a changing prompt in one natural sentence, within a word limit and without specified forbidden words. The game is about creative phrasing, not a single topic. Tasks include describing an object or place, replying to an invitation, making amends, and writing a birthday wish. A fresh prompt is curated for every day through December 31, 2026. The daily puzzle changes at midnight UTC; previous dated puzzles remain playable. Playing and sharing do not require an account. Accepted answers are public. The earliest valid submission of a distinct line receives first-discovery credit; repeating a line still counts as a solve. Equally short valid lines share the shortest record. Word counts and forbidden forms are checked by the program. Jev evaluates meaning, natural sentence structure, and attempts to manipulate the judge. Uncertain judgments remain unranked and players can flag judgments for review. Jev is not represented as an infallible judge. ## Play and rules - [Play Linewit](https://linewit.vercel.app/): The current daily puzzle and public answer wall. - [How to play](https://linewit.vercel.app/how-to-play): Rules, discovery attribution, sharing, guest records, and the daily schedule. - [Plain-text rules](https://linewit.vercel.app/how-to-play.md): A concise Markdown version of the rules. ## Sharing and records Challenge URLs use `?day=YYYY-MM-DD&line=ID` to preserve the puzzle and benchmark. An optional `hide=1` initially hides answers so a friend can try first. This is a spoiler preference, not private access control. Share URLs contain no account credentials. Guest records are associated with a browser cookie. Optional email verification can link those records to an account across devices when the host has configured email sign-in. Claiming a discovery preserves its original submission order. Display names are chosen by players and are not verified real-world identities. ## Optional - [Sitemap](https://linewit.vercel.app/sitemap.xml): Canonical public pages.
